ESET is a solid anti-malware engine, useful firewall settings as well as a password manager that offers forms filling and protection for browsers and a range of network security tools. Its parental controls, secure browser and anti-theft tools are also good but not exceptional. Unlike many competitors it doesn’t come with the VPN service or microphone security, but it does provide remote screen capture and camera access so that you can be able to see what the thief up to on your laptop or mobile.
The application has an intuitive interface that is easy to comprehend and use by novices, but is also full of extensive information and powerful features for those who need it. The company also offers excellent customer support, which can be accessed through their website or directly from the client through the “support” tab which is in the bottom of the app.
We really liked the way that ESET Internet Security shows you how it’s protecting your computer with a status bar at the top of the window and also provides you with complete security information. When something significant happens on your computer or you need to take action, the program displays clear and concise notifications on the desktop close to the tray for system.
However the anti-phishing tools in the antivirus were a little too vigilant and it blocked quite a few websites not listed on PhishTank which I trust. Also when we connected into a USB storage device into our laptop the program automatically scans it, which was somewhat annoying as most other programs simply require permission to do this.
